Our Lady of the Assumption School, built in 1956, has a long history of serving the children of southeast Lethbridge. We are an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education—that we believe is important for our students. As a Catholic elementary school in Lethbridge, Alberta, we strive to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who are equipped to make a positive difference in the world.

OLA is a small school of about 180 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6 with approximately thirty staff. Bussing is provided for children living more than 1.6 km from the school, as is the policy throughout Lethbridge.  Our Lady of the Assumption learning community is dedicated to providing a strong academic and cocurricular program in a Christ centered learning environment.

Our Lady of the Assumption School has a long-standing reputation as a Catholic community school which provides educational services to children living in southeast Lethbridge. Our mission is to educate each student spiritually, academically, socially, and physically while respecting the needs and uniqueness of each individual. We do this in partnership with the home, parish and community. Most important for our staff is to provide a safe and caring environment for all of the children enrolled.

The school has a history of having strong family and community bonds. We encourage parents to continue that partnership through participation in School Council, field trips, and special events. Strong parental support and committed staff provide us with the opportunity to offer Grade 6 Outdoor Education, extra-curricular basketball, and exceptional educational field trips.

As members of The Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division, the majority of our students move on to Grade 7 at St. Francis Junior High School and then Catholic Central High School for Grades 10, 11, and 12.
